The general chapter started with an inspiring celebration of the Eucharist in the congregation chapel in Tilburg. Theo te Wierik MSC led the way in this. It was an atmospheric celebration in which the Brazilian sisters brought in the Bible while dancing and the Indonesian sisters brought the offerings. The occasional choir provided the songs. Many Dutch sisters and co-workers were also present during the celebration. After the celebration, the journey back to the monastery hotel Zin was full of inspiration. 
 
Sr. Hermin Bu'ulölö gave a warm welcome to all chapter members.  In the afternoon all committees for the smooth running of the chapter have been assembled. The review of the current board over the past 6 years was met with applause. After the joint dinner the first day was closed with singing.
