Celebration of the Congregation's 189th Anniversary

General

Tuesday 23 November was commemorated that 189 years ago our congregation was founded. At the generalate this was done with a short prayer and coffee and cake.

Sr. Josephine recited a prayer expressing her gratitude to the founder, Mgr. Zwijsen and the first superior, Mother Michael Leysen. Both were inspired by Maria, Mother of Mercy and Vincent de Paul. Since 1832, sisters have practiced their work of charity and to this day, they continue to do so. Sr. Josephine calls on all members of our living community, including Friends, and associates, to continue to embrace and carry on the mission of Christ.

The celebration ended with a “Salve Regina”.
