Lord,
There are the days when
I long for inspiration
To move beyond the boundaries of banality
To search for a deeper meaning in my life

May I be inspired by all that surrounds me
All that feeds my senses and my soul
Your touch on humanity
In nature’s garden
The wind that brushes my hair
The sun that kisses my face
The life-giving air

May the well-springs of goodness
In every human heart
Draw such reserves from my own hidden
depths
May simplicity inspire me to be humble
May kindness inspire me to be generous
May forgiveness inspire me to compassion
May misery inspire me to justice

Let the pain of our world
Inspire me to seek wholeness and healing
For the hungry
For the lonely
For the frightened
For the old ones

For the newborn
May your beauty, Lord
Which is infinite
Move my heart to offer more
May I see in the stars
In all colours
In all life
In all forms of artistic expression
In beautiful notes that soothe the soul
In poets, words that find their home in
searching hearts
Your haunting presence
May I be inspired by the genius of each
person, unique
Graced with Divine beauty
Capable of boundless possibility
Known to some
Forever hidden to others

May your touch upon my life
Draw others to be inspired
By my own self giving
However small
For when I look to You I Am inspired
